Venue
The festival will take place on the premises of the castle in Chvaly (Chvalský zámek). But don’t worry, it is still easily accessible by public transport, there are even night buses. During the day, the journey from the city centre takes around 30 minutes.
The ball will be held in a beautifully renovated hall called Chvalská stodola. Furthermore, for workshops, we will have at our disposal one room in the castle itself, plus a gym at the nearby primary school (ZŠ Stoliňská)
How to get there
By public transport
From the main train station (Praha Hlavní nádraží) by underground: Take the C (red) line to Florenc and change to the B (yellow) line.
From the airport: Take the bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín and then the A (green) underground line to Můstek, change to the B (yellow) line. You can also take the bus 100 from the airport to Zličín and then change directly to the B (yellow) underground line.
Take the B (yellow) underground line to Černý Most. It is the last station, so the direction is also Černý Most.
Then take a bus to Chvaly. It’s just a 4-minute ride and there is a bus every few minutes. The bus stop is located just in front of the venue. Attention: Chvaly (as well as all other bus stops in Prague) is a request stop. If you want to get off, press the STOP button or the button on the door, if you want to get on, wave at the driver.
Day buses: 141, 171, 221, 222, 223, 224, 303, 344, 353, 398. (Note: On lines starting with 3, you have to get on through the front door and show your ticket to the driver.)
Night buses: 912 (twice per hour, leaving from Chvaly at :07 and :37). Change at Lehovec for the night tram 94 to the city centre.
From the main train station (Praha Hlavní nádraží), you can also take a train to station Horní Počernice. During the day, there is a train 30 minutes. Then either walk ca 20 minutes to Chvalská stodola, or take a bus to Chvaly (2 stops).
You can search your connection on https://www.dpp.cz/en, or in the PID lítačka app.
Public transport tickets:
Ticket vending machines are installed in all metro stations and at some tram stops. With a contactless card, you can buy tickets on trams and some buses. You can also buy them in the PID lítačka app.
- 30 min for 30 CZK (enough for the journey from the venue to the gym),
- 90 min for 40 CZK,
- 4 hours for 120 CZK,
- 72 hours for 330 CZK. (Can’t be bought on the bus! Available in the vending machines or the PID lítačka app.)
By car
The address is Chvalská stodola, Na Chvalské tvrzi 3103/7, 193 00 Praha 20 - Horní Počernice.
As it is far away from the city centre, it should be relatively easy to find a place to park. There is a parking place next to the venue for the lucky ones who arrive first.
Accommodation
When buying your ticket, you could book a place for your sleeping bag in a gym. (If you haven’t pre-ordered, you can still book it at the registration desk.)
The address of the gym is ZŠ Tolerance, Mochovská 570 . It is around 500 m from the underground station Hloubětín (line B) or tram stop Sídliště Hloubětín. Bus 141 takes you directly from Sídliště Hloubětín to Chvaly.
At night, take the night bus 912 to Lehovec and then tram 92 to Sídliště Hloubětín. The journey takes 18 minutes.
Don’t forget your sleeping bag, sleeping mat, clean shoes, light and earplugs. We will provide an electric kettle, so you might also want to bring a cup or a thermos flask.
On Friday, the gym itself will be available only after the concerts, but you will be allowed to drop off your luggage between 17:00 and 19:30 before the bal. (Please do so, if you can.) On Sunday, you have to leave by 12:30.
During the weekend, there will be a doorkeeper all the time. During the bals, the gym will be closed by default (if empty). If you want to go to sleep earlier, ask at the reception. They will call the volunteer in charge (or tell you that it is already open).
The other option is to find accommodation on your own. We recommend searching around night tram lines 92 or 94. However, night trams (or buses) will take you also to the city center. You can change between night trams at Lazarská and between night buses at I. P. Pavlova.
