The festival will take place near the castle in Chvaly (Chvalský zámek). But don’t worry, it is still easily accessible by public transport, there are even night buses. During the day, the journey from the city centre takes around 30 minutes.

The ball will be held in a beautifully renovated hall called Chvalská stodola. Na Chvalské tvrzi 3103/7, 193 00 Praha 20 – Horní Počernice.

Saturday workshops will take place at Chodovická school (Chodovická 2250). See the Workshops tab for details.

The Sunday workshop will take place at school Stoliňská (Stoliňská 2440/8).

How to get there

By public transport

From the main train station (Praha Hlavní nádraží) by underground: Take the C (red) line to Florenc and change to the B (yellow) line.

From the airport: Take the trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín and then the A (green) underground line to Můstek, change to the B (yellow) line. You can also take the bus 100 from the airport to Zličín and then change directly to the B (yellow) underground line.

Take the B (yellow) underground line to Černý Most. It is the last station, so the direction is also Černý Most.

Then take a bus to Chvaly. It’s just a 4-minute ride and there is a bus every few minutes. The bus stop is located just in front of the venue. Attention: All bus stops in Prague are now request stops. If you want to get off, press the STOP button or the button on the door, if you want to get on, wave at the driver.

Day buses: 141, 171, 221, 222, 223, 224, 303, 344, 353, 354, 398. (Note: On lines starting with 3, you have to get on through the front door and show your ticket to the driver.)

Night buses: 912 (twice per hour, leaving from Chvaly at :22 and :52). Change at Lehovec for the night tram 94 to the city centre.

From the main train station (Praha Hlavní nádraží) or from Rajská zahrada (on the yellow underground line B), you can also take a train to station Horní Počernice. During the day, there is a train at least twice an hour. Then either walk ca 20 minutes to Chvalská stodola, or take a bus to Chvaly (2 stops). It is ca 15-minutes walk to the Chodovická school where workshops will take place on Saturday.

You can search your connection on https://www.dpp.cz/en, or in the PID lítačka app.

Public transport tickets:

Ticket vending machines are installed in all underground stations and at some tram stops. With a contactless card, you can buy tickets on trams and buses. The cheapest option is to buy them in the PID lítačka app.

Taking the train? You can use the same ticket as for the underground, trams and buses, but you have to validate it before boarding the train (unless you bought it in the PID lítačka app).

By car

The address is Chvalská stodola, Na Chvalské tvrzi 3103/7, 193 00 Praha 20 - Horní Počernice.

As it is far away from the city centre, it should be relatively easy to find a place to park. There is a parking place next to the venue for the lucky ones who arrive first.

Accommodation

When buying your ticket (or upon arrival at the registration desk), you will be able to book a place for your sleeping bag in a gym.

The address of the gym is ZŠ Chvaly, Stoliňská 2440/8.

Map how to get from the dance floor to the sleeping gym

Attention, it is not the same sleeping gym as in the previous years! This school is just a 5-minute walk from the main festival venue. (Some workshops took place in this gym last year.)

Don’t forget your sleeping bag, sleeping mat, clean shoes, headlamp (or another source of light), earplugs and a mug (we will provide an electric kettle).

On Friday, the gym will be available from 17:00.

During the weekend, there will be a doorkeeper all the time. During the bals, the gym will be closed by default (if empty). If you want to go to sleep earlier, ask at the registration desk. They will call the volunteer in charge (or tell you that it is already open).

The other option is to find accommodation on your own. We recommend searching around night tram lines 92 or 94. However, night trams (or buses) will take you also to the city center. You can change between night trams at Lazarská and between night buses at I. P. Pavlova.

Food

In the mornings: The bar at Stodola won’t open before 13:00 on Saturday and 11:00 on Sunday. Tea-making facilities will be available at the sleeping gym.

During the day: No warm food provided, there are many restaurants and supermarkets.

Close to Stodola / sleeping gym:

  • Restaurants: Czech, Italian, Chinese, Indian, pizza, sushi within walking distance from the main venue.
  • Supermarkets: Lidl (open 7:00–22:00; 8:00–22:00 on Sundays) and Penny (7:00–21:00 every day).
  • More shops and restaurants (Thai, running sushi, burgers, KFC, McDonalds..) in the shopping centre Černý Most (open every day 9:00–21:00).

Close to the school with workshops:

  • Bakery / sweet shop (Ratibořická 2325/36)
  • Café Pan Buchta (Běluňská 11)
  • Restaurants: Hospůdka U Bobra (Ratibořická 2311) and Bella Vita (Náchodská 2353/158).
  • Supermarket: Albert (Chodovická 2311/30, open 7:00–21:00)

During balls: The bar will serve cold and hot drinks and some snacks. Please don’t take any glasses or glass bottles into the ball room. Plastic cups are ok, there will be some available, or you can bring your own.

Other

Chill-out zone: There is unfortunately no separate relax zone available during the concerts, but we will arrange some mats and pillows in the space behind the curtain in the dance hall. Please make sure that you don’t disturb anyone there.

In the “sleeping school”, there is a corner with a carpet on the first floor that you can use when you don’t want to disturb the sleepers. (With the exception of 11:00-12:30 on Sunday, when the singing workshop will take place there.)

Luggage: You can drop off your luggage at the gym on Friday. Unfortunately, there is no special room to store musical instruments neither in the gym, nor in the venue.

Money: The bar accepts payments both in cash (in CZK) and by card. The CD shop accepts payments in CZK and EUR.

Afterparty: Restaurant U Voháků (Rožnovská 737/16, restauraceuvohaku.cz), 15-minutes walk from Stodola.

Staying in Prague for longer? Then join us on Tuesday for a session edition of our regular Tuesday bals (19:30 at komunitní prostor Smíchov, Na Doubkové 8)

In cases of emergency: There is a pharmacy at the Černý Most shopping center (8.00–21.00 every day). First-aid kit will be stored in the backstage area. For serious cases, use the European emergency number 112.
